With Strange Eons, Even Fog May Die
Dunstwald is surrounded by farmlands which is where they get their food from but after that is all forest which is where elves live. Between the forest and the farms is about a mile of the “wild heath” This is patrolled by members of the city due to the Wild Hunt. The elves live in this forest are separated into courts that rule. Those who align with the Summer Court are generally good natured and also houses the gnomes and halflings. The Winter Court houses more militaristic minds responsible for defense and a few thing they should have control of the city. There is also the Gloaming Court, who are associated with more abstract things light Twilight, Autumn, and magic. The Green Court is the more animals, dryads, and some more wild hunters. The Court of the Sea are the Aquatic Elves which are very rare as the forest doesn’t have a good berth to the ocean. The Wild Hunt is a random thing that affects all the island. After a period of time that varies, a giant tattooed elf with stag horns leads an army that hunts anything in its path. Very little is know about it and everyone is fair game. Which is why Dunstwald employs outposts along the wild heath as a first response type system. Mostly it’s made up of rangers.
The other four countries all have their own elven courts although the ones on Dunstwald are considered the most powerful and they are affiliated. Every country with a substantial elven population will have a Summer Court for example.
